Curry waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Cordova Blue Devils. The Yellowjackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Devils, too.
Curry had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 25-27, 22-25, 25-20, 25-19, 15-13.
Cordova's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ali Simon, who had 14 kills, five blocks, and four digs. That's the most blocks Simon has posted in her last six contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Kacharos, who had five kills, two aces, and 23 assists.
Curry is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Cordova, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 25-18.
Curry wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Lindsay Lane Christian Academy on the 10th. Cordova does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
