Preview: Timpanogos Timberwolves vs. Payson Lions
Timpanogos has been on the road for six straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Payson Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Timpanogos' game on Friday was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 50-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mountain View. Timpanogos has struggled against Mountain View recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jaxen Mccuistion, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Johnson, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
While Payson couldn't quite beat Provo on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 22-point loss they were dealt on Tuesday. Payson fell just short of Provo by a score of 36-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Payson has scored all season.
Timpanogos has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-4 record this season. As for Payson, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-9.
Everything came up roses for Timpanogos against Payson in their previous matchup back in December of 2016 as the team secured a 83-55 victory. Does Timpanogos have another victory up their sleeve, or will Payson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
