Soccer Game Preview: Chicago Christian vs. Wheaton Academy

Chicago Christian hasn't had much luck against Wheaton Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Knights will take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Chicago Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Chicago Christian had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the seven-goal drubbing they dealt Bishop McNamara on Tuesday. The Knights' defense stepped up to hand the Fightin' Irish a 7-0 shutout. It was an even better day for Casey Lenarz as he scored three goals for his team.

Meanwhile, Wheaton Academy's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Timothy Christian. Given Wheaton Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Timothy Christian are ranked 155th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chicago Christian's record is now 14-5. As for Wheaton Academy, their record now sits at 14-2.

Chicago Christian might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Wheaton Academy in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
