Baseball Game Preview: Sutton Sammies/Suzies vs. Burncoat Patriots

Sutton is a perfect 3-0 against Burncoat since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Sammies/Suzies will square off against the Patriots at 3:30 p.m. Sutton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

Sutton was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Leicester last Thursday. The Sammies/Suzies never let the Wolverines get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Sammies/Suzies, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Sutton got a massive performance out of Jackson Kehowski, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Max Perry, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Burncoat was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 8-1 to Shepherd Hill Regional.

Sutton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Burncoat, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Sutton took their victory against Burncoat when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-9 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sammies/Suzies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
