Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Takes a Loss

Cornerstone Christian lost against American School for the Deaf back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Cornerstone Christian took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the American School for the Deaf Tigers. Cornerstone Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

American School for the Deaf was led to victory by K'Marie Owens and Suli DesJesus. Owens posted 12 points and three steals, while DesJesus had 12 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Jenny Haring, who put up four points.

Cornerstone Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for American School for the Deaf, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Christian will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Torrington Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for American School for the Deaf, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Rhode Island School for the Deaf at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. American School for the Deaf's defense has only allowed 23.8 points per game this season, so Rhode Island School for the Deaf's offense will have their work cut out for them.
