Soccer Game Preview: Loudoun County vs. Lightridge

The Loudoun County Captains will square off against the Lightridge Bolts at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Loudoun County will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Thursday, Loudoun County made easy work of Briar Woods and carried off a 4-1 win. The result was nothing new for Loudoun County, who have now won three matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Lightridge was forced to settle for a draw. They and Loudoun Valley finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw on Thursday.

Loudoun County's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those four games. Lightridge's draw gives them a new season record of 1-1-1.

Everything went Loudoun County's way against Lightridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Loudoun County made off with a 5-0 victory. Does Loudoun County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lightridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
