Baseball Game Preview: Maurepas Wolves vs. Fisher Gators

The Maurepas Wolves are taking a road trip to square off against the Fisher Gators at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither Maurepas nor Fisher posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Maurepas' offense. They came up short against Covington on Wednesday, falling 11-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Fisher lost 16-1 to Covenant Christian Academy on Thursday.

Jacob Bourgeois was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Fisher's loss dropped their record down to 16-9-1. As for Maurepas, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.

Maurepas suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Fisher in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
