Basketball Recap: Cash Zirkle and Jamie Hernandez Secure Win for Bozeman

Bozeman won the last time they faced Freeport and things went their way on Monday too. The Bozeman Bucks walked away with a 65-58 win over the Freeport Bulldogs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bucks.

Leading Bozeman to victory were Jamie Hernandez and Cash Zirkle. Hernandez went 7 of 10 en route to 21 points and seven rebounds, while Zirkle went 8 for 17 on his way to 23 points and five assists. The dominant performance also gave Zirkle a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Zac Flitcraft, who posted seven points along with eight boards and three steals.

Freeport's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dameyan Martin, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. Julius Miles was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine boards.

Bozeman is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Freeport, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6.

Bozeman has already played their next matchup (against Blountstown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Freeport will be playing in front of their home fans against Holmes County at 6:30 p.m. on January 27th.
