Preview: Evansville Memorial Tigers vs. Henderson County Colonels
The Evansville Memorial Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Henderson County Colonels at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Evansville Memorial has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 323 points over their last five contests.
Last Saturday, Evansville Memorial didn't have too much trouble with North Central on the road as they won 59-40. Given Evansville Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while North Central is ranked 127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Evansville Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avery Kelley, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Kelley's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Rylee Canaan was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Henderson County came up short against Central on Saturday and fell 49-42.
Evansville Memorial's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Henderson County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
