Basketball Recap: Tyson Mcelhaney Key Part of a Team Effort in Dreadnaughts Win

Lakeland won the last time they faced Ridge Community and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lakeland Dreadnaughts took down the Ridge Community Bolts 60-46.

Lakeland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyson Mcelhaney, who went 9 of 15 en route to 22 points. Those 22 points gave Mcelhaney a new career-high. Alshawn Hagan was another key player, going 5 for 7 on his way to 11 points and three steals.

Ridge Community's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zack White, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Tarique Kennedy, who scored eight points and seven boards.

Lakeland's record is now 11-9. As for Ridge Community, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Lakeland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 82-67 defeat against Tampa Catholic on the 29th. As for Ridge Community, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-50 loss against Wekiva on the 30th.
