Basketball Recap: Wasatch Wasps vs. Salem Hills Skyhawks
After flying high against Cedar Valley last Friday, Wasatch came back down to earth. The Wasatch Wasps took a 59-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Salem Hills Skyhawks. The Wasps were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Skyhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.
Salem Hills found their leader in sophomore Elijah Gasser, who went 6 for 7 en route to 19 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Gasser a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Kade Moser, who posted 14 points and six rebounds.
Wasatch's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9. As for Salem Hills, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-10.
