Volleyball Recap: Knox's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Knox had to endure a four-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Marquette Catholic Blazers 2-1. This was payback for the Redskins, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Knox got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Da'Miya Sherrod out in front who had 15 digs. That's the most digs Sherrod has posted over her last six matches. Addison Sponaugle was another key player, getting 15 digs and one assist.

Despite the defeat, Marquette Catholic saw an underclassman step up: freshman Olivia Zmuda had 19 digs and three assists. Zmuda has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 15 times she's played.

Knox's win bumped their record up to 11-15. As for Marquette Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 19-9.

Knox has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Jimtown on the 4th. As for Marquette Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against South Bend Riley on the 4th.
