Basketball Game Preview: Eagan Wildcats vs. Century Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Eagan Wildcats duke it out with the Century Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday... The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Eagan has six straight victories, Century has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Eagan will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Lakeville South, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Eagan narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Lakeville South 70-68. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Cougars are ranked 73rd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Century lost 82-62 to Lakeville North on Saturday.

Eagan's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Century, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Eagan strolled past Century in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 61-45. Does Eagan have another victory up their sleeve, or will Century turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
