Soccer Game Preview: Marlin vs. Mexia

Marlin hasn't had much luck against Mexia recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Marlin Bulldogs will look to defend their home pitch against the Mexia Black Cats at 5:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Marlin is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Lorena.

Meanwhile, for the first time since January 4th, Mexia was forced to settle for a draw on Tuesday. They and Connally finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw.

Mexia's draw makes their record 2-6-2 this season. As for Marlin, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5-1.

Marlin was able to grind out a solid victory over Mexia when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 2-0. Does Marlin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mexia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
