Basketball Recap: Van Meter Comes Up Short

Van Meter lost against Roland-Story back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Van Meter Bulldogs took a 72-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roland-Story Norsemen. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bulldogs came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Norsemen are ranked 238th).

Van Meter's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Roland-Story, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-14 record this season.

Coming up, Van Meter will square off against Newton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Roland-Story, they have already played their next contest, a 79-64 loss against Saydel on the 11th.
