Volleyball Recap: Desert Mountain Finds Playoff Glory Versus Buena

It's playoff time, and Desert Mountain had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Buena Colts on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Wolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Colts, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Desert Mountain took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-11, 25-13.

Desert Mountain got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mia Archibald out in front who had six digs and three aces. That's the most aces Archibald has posted since back in October of 2024.

Archibald wasn't the only good servers: Desert Mountain was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in seven consecutive contests.

Desert Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-22 record this season. As for Buena, their defeat ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 12-13.

As of now, neither Desert Mountain nor the Colts have any future games scheduled.
