Recap: Rocky River Ravens vs. Independence Patriots
The Rocky River Ravens''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 56-7 loss at the hands of Independence. Rocky River was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Independence's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Travis Hill led the charge by rushing for 76 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. Hill was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards. Vontrez Burch did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 113 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Rocky River's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Independence, their win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-2.
Rocky River will take on Garinger at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Garinger comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Independence, they will head out on the road to face off against Butler at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Butler is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
