Basketball Recap: Wheeler Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Wheeler, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 43-36 victory over the Baldwyn Bearcats on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-41 back in December of 2024.

Wheeler found their leader in freshman Marli Kate Shockley, who went 5 for 6 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Wheeler's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Baldwyn, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Wheeler will challenge Biggersville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wheeler is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season. As for Baldwyn, they will host Thrasher at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Thrasher will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Baldwyn surely won't give up without a fight.
