Recap: Alamo Navajo Cougars vs. Corona/Vaughn Cardinals

The Alamo Navajo Cougars lost against the Corona/Vaughn Cardinals back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Alamo Navajo fell 52-40 to Corona/Vaughn. Alamo Navajo has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Corona/Vaughn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Harper Dunn led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 20 points, 19 rebounds, and nine blocks. Dunn is crushing the block category: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kassidy Lightfoot, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Alamo Navajo's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10. As for Corona/Vaughn, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Hondo Valley the next time they take the court. Alamo Navajo will host Hondo Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Corona/Vaughn will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
