Softball Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

Milton-Union hit Riverside with a five-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pirates came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 12-2. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 8-7 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Riverside saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emilee Robinson, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Milton-Union, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside will venture away from home to challenge Benjamin Logan at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Milton-Union, they will challenge Lehman Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
