Volleyball Recap: Syracuse Falls Short Against Ranked Farmington

Syracuse faced Farmington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Titans fell 3-1 to the Phoenix. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Phoenix this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in April.

While Syracuse ultimately came up short, they really made Farmington work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-18, 22-25, 26-24, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Syracuse saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zane Nanney had five digs and one block. Nanney also set a new season-high mark in assists with 29.

Syracuse's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-6. As for Farmington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-7.

As of now, neither Syracuse nor the Phoenix have any future games scheduled.
