Basketball Recap: Madison County Comes Up Short

Madison County came up into this matchup off a tough 25-point defeat two weeks ago. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Central Woodstock Falcons by a score of 43-40 on Tuesday. The Mountaineers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Madison County and nudges their season record down to 2-9. As for Central Woodstock, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Madison County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-38 defeat against East Rockingham on the 15th. As for Central Woodstock, they will take on Stonewall Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Woodstock is facing Stonewall Jackson at the right time seeing as Stonewall Jackson is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
