Baseball Game Preview: Gray Stone Day Knights vs. North Stanly Comets

Gray Stone Day is 0-10 against North Stanly since March of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Comets at 6:00 p.m. Gray Stone Day has given up an average of 10.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Gray Stone Day is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 21-2 to Mount Pleasant.

Gray Stone Day saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Vullo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Max Poplin also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, North Stanly strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against South Stanly as they made off with a 12-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

North Stanly pushed their record up to 15-0 with the victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Gray Stone Day, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Gray Stone Day might still be hurting after the 17-3 defeat they got from North Stanly in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
