Basketball Game Preview: Rosholt Hornets vs. Newman Fighting Cardinals

The Rosholt Hornets will venture away from home to square off against the Newman Fighting Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Rosholt and seven for Newman.

Last Tuesday, Rosholt was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-48 to Wild Rose. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while the Wildcats are ranked 148th).

Meanwhile, Newman ended up a good deal behind Prentice on Thursday and lost 48-33.

Newman's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Rosholt, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.

Rosholt came up short against Newman in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 48-41. Can Rosholt avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
