Football Recap: New Lothrop Comes Up Short

New Lothrop suffered their biggest defeat since September 13, 2024 on Friday. They had to suffer through a 56-25 loss at the hands of the Ovid-Elsie Marauders. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-19.

This is the second loss in a row for New Lothrop and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Ovid-Elsie, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Lothrop will square off against Cheboygan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ovid-Elsie, they will challenge Waverly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Marauders will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.13 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
