Volleyball Recap: Kit Carson Wildcats vs. Genoa-Hugo/Karval Pirates
After flying high against Springfield on Thursday, Kit Carson came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell just short of the Genoa-Hugo/Karval Pirates by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.
Kit Carson was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Genoa-Hugo/Karval work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 22-25, 25-19, 16-25, 15-10.
Avery Johnson paced Kit Carson's offense, picking up 19 kills. Johnson got some help from Shay Rady and her 15 assists. Johnson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.
Kit Carson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Genoa-Hugo/Karval, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
