Basketball Recap: North Callaway Takes a Loss

North Callaway easily dispatched Bowling Green last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The North Callaway Thunderbirds fell just short of the Mark Twain Tigers by a score of 46-43 on Saturday. The Thunderbirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, North Callaway still got an impressive performance from Lakyn Hartley, who went 5-for-6 on her way to 14 points. Hartley is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Livia Hartley was another key player, putting up two points and 13 boards.

North Callaway's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Mark Twain, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.

North Callaway will challenge Montgomery County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mark Twain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
