After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chilhowie, Honaker was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Rural Retreat Indians a 17-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won four matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Honaker has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Rural Retreat, they now have a losing record of 6-7-1.

The future could be bright for both Honaker and Rural Retreat: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Tigers will look to extend Holston's three-game losing streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Rural Retreat will try to hand Northwood their seventh-straight loss when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
