Kali Peifer made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Jenna Ernst was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. Lily Ashton was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Hempfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manheim Township only posted an OBP of .273.
Meanwhile, Susquehannock waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Warriors this season.
Sofia Deffendall and Michelle Morris did most of the damage at the plate: Deffendall scored three runs while going 2-for-3, while Morris scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Macie Minton, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Susquehannock now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Hempfield, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hempfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .391. However, it's not like Susquehannock struggles in that department as they've averaged .327. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
