Basketball Game Preview: Space Coast Vipers vs. Cocoa Tigers

Space Coast hasn't had much luck against Cocoa recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Space Coast Vipers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Cocoa Tigers at 7:00 p.m.

Space Coast is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against New Smyrna Beach on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Space Coast was dealt a 75-18 defeat at the hands of New Smyrna Beach. The game marked the Vipers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Cocoa had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Terriers as they made off with a 44-21 victory. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Terriers are ranked 337th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cocoa's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Space Coast, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

Space Coast came up short against Cocoa in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 60-47. Can Space Coast avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
