Basketball Recap: Redeemer Classical Christ Takes a Loss

Redeemer Classical Christ was the 36-32 winner over Mount Airy Christian Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Redeemer Classical Christ Royals fell 47-36 to Mount Airy Christian Academy on Monday.

Despite the loss, Redeemer Classical Christ still got an impressive performance from Abby Judy?, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 80.6% of Redeemer Classical Christ's points, marking the 12th time in a row Judy? has posted more than a third of the team's points.

Mount Airy Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Avery Witter, who put up 13 points in addition to eight boards and six steals. Witter is becoming a predictor of Mount Airy Christian Academy's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 6-3 (and 4-6 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Caroline Apolenis, who scored 16 points.

Redeemer Classical Christ's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Mount Airy Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-9.

Redeemer Classical Christ wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-34 win against Perry Hall Christian on the 13th. As for Mount Airy Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-11 victory against Heritage Academy on the 13th.
