Basketball Game Preview: Hamlin Chargers vs. DeSmet Bulldogs

Hamlin has won ten straight games at home (dating back to last season), while DeSmet has won ten straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Hamlin Chargers will host the DeSmet Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. One thing working in Hamlin's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.

Last Thursday, Hamlin was fully in charge, breezing past Webster 71-22. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, DeSmet lost to Luverne on the road by a 67-50 margin on Saturday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bulldogs came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 50th in South Dakota, while the Cardinals are ranked 146th in Minnesota).

Hamlin has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.2 points. As for DeSmet, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Hamlin strolled past DeSmet in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 64-46. Will Hamlin repeat their success, or does DeSmet have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
