Basketball Recap: Northampton Comes Up Short

Northampton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a hard 65-49 fall against the Holyoke Purple Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 82-74 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

It was another big night for Calvin Godbolt, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 23 points for Holyoke. Another player making a difference was Chauncey Ruiz, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

Northampton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Holyoke, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Northampton will be playing in front of their home fans against Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st. As for Holyoke, they will venture away from home to take on Pope Francis Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
