A feisty cat fight will be fought as New Roads Jaguars face off against Jordan Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. New Roads is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Last Thursday, New Roads came up short against Milken and fell 7-4. The Jaguars have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meetings.

New Roads saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Linares, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Santiago Jimenez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Jordan entered their tilt with Centennial on Monday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Apaches with a sharp 20-0 win. Considering the Panthers have won three matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Talin Velazquez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Velazquez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Jordan got a massive performance out of Adrian Mendez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Sam Dixon, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Jordan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .537 or higher in three consecutive games.

New Roads' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Jordan, their record is now 5-1-1.
