Preview: Silverado Skyhawks vs. Spring Valley Grizzlies
Two dominant guards in Cyril Franklin and Alijah Adem are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Silverado Skyhawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spring Valley Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Silverado knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Spring Valley likes a good challenge.
Last Wednesday, Silverado faced Arbor View in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Silverado took a 77-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arbor View. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, even though Durango scored an imposing 62 points on Wednesday, Spring Valley still came out on top. Spring Valley pulled ahead with a 63-62 photo finish over Durango. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Spring Valley.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Spring Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adem, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Adem has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordon Cosby, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Silverado's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Spring Valley, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.
Silverado ended up a good deal behind Spring Valley in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, losing 82-65. Will Silverado have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
