Volleyball Recap: Rushford-Peterson Starts off Right with Win over Medford

Rushford-Peterson took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Medford Tigers with a sharp 3-0 win. The Trojans were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Tigers, so the Trojans were just returning the favor.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Rushford-Peterson was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-12, 25-10.

Torryn Schneider paced Rushford-Peterson's offense, picking up 11 kills. Schneider got some help from Avree Connaughty and her 13 assists. Schneider was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Rushford-Peterson and Medford will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Trojans will square off against rival Caledonia at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Medford is set to take on their familiar foe Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton at 7:15 p.m. on September 4.
