Football Recap: Hoover Starts off Right with Win over Marshall

Hoover took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 51-7 victory over the Marshall Eagles. The Tornados pushed the score to 44-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles had no chance of recovering from.

Hoover got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was AJ Francisco out in front who threw for 226 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Those three passing touchdowns gave Francisco a new career-high. Abner Barrera Ramirez handled things on the ground, rushing for 81 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Coming up, Hoover will be playing in front of their home fans against Dr. Maya Angelou Community at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marshall, they will venture away from home to square off against Dominguez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
