Baseball Game Preview: Highlands Ranch Falcons vs. Valley Christian Trojans

The Highlands Ranch Falcons will square off against the Valley Christian Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Highlands Ranch has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Valley Christian will arrive with ten straight wins.

Things were looking good for Highlands Ranch after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 7-4 to Chandler. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by exactly three runs.

Ayden Wells was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Garrett Williams also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Valley Christian faced Yuma Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Valley Christian won by a run and slipped past Yuma Catholic 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Valley Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Danzeisen, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Valley Christian pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Highlands Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
