Softball Recap: Teaneck Victorious

Teaneck posted their closest win since May 15, 2025 on Thursday. They skirted past the Hawthorne Bears 10-9. This was a revenge game for the Highwaymen: when they faced off against the Bears back in March, they had to take a 9-6 loss.

Teaneck let Olivia Squitieri and Leanna Guerreeo run wild. Squitieri went 3-for-5 with five stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Guerreeo went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases and two runs. That's the most RBI Squitieri has posted since April 1st. Mia Castro was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Teaneck kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 5-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Teaneck's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Hawthorne, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Teaneck will venture away from home to square off against Bergenfield at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Hawthorne, they will head out to face off against North Arlington at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
