Basketball Recap: Barker Sets Scoring Season-High Against Newfane

Barker's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 76-58 victory over the Newfane Panthers. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Barker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaac Monaco, who went 9 of 10 on his way to 25 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Taliaferro, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 22 points.

Barker was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaac Zachery, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasey Wheat, who posted 16 points.

Barker's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Newfane, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Barker will be taking part in a tournament against Kendall at 3:30 p.m. on December 28th. As for Newfane, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wilson at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
