Northwest is a perfect 6-0 against Gross Catholic since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Vikings will be playing at home against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Gross Catholic took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Northwest, who comes in off a win.

Northwest is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since October 4th on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past York 3-2.

Northwest wouldn't go down easily and took York into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-15, 17-25, 23-25, 15-13.

Halle Rice went supernova, getting 23 digs and three aces. What's more, she posted four assists, the most she's had over her last nine contests. Allie Nelson was another key player, getting 11 digs.

Meanwhile, Gross Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Mercy on Saturday and fell 2-1.

Gross Catholic has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-13 record this season. As for Northwest, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-10.

Northwest was able to grind out a solid victory over Gross Catholic when the teams last played back in September of 2021, winning 2-0. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
