Manzano is 9-1 against Rio Grande since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Monarchs will welcome the Ravens at 4:00 p.m. Manzano is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Manzano came up short against Sandia on Saturday, falling 21-3.

Manzano saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Destiny Moore, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Rio Grande got the win against Highland on Saturday by a conclusive 22-4. The victory continues a trend for the Ravens in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won eight in a row.

Rio Grande let Yvette 'Bear' Breneiser and Brazil Dominguez run wild. Breneiser went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases, while Dominguez went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave Dominguez a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Mercedes Valenzuela, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.

Rio Grande always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .900. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Rio Grande's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Manzano, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Manzano suffered a grim 29-21 defeat to Rio Grande in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Monarchs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
