Recap: Loyalsock Township Lancers vs. Danville Ironmen

The Loyalsock Township Lancers and the Danville Ironmen squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Loyalsock Township Lancers had to settle for second. They were dealt a 40-7 defeat at the hands of the Ironmen. The low total for Loyalsock Township ended their streak of high-flying scores.

Despite the loss, Loyalsock Township still got an impressive performance from Jaylen Andrews, who picked up 170 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Bo Sheptock was his usual excellent self, rushing for 296 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry for Danville. Sheptock was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Aaron Johnson made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Another reason for the win was Danville's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Lincoln Diehl was especially locked on to Loyalsock Township's QB and sacked him twice.

Loyalsock Township's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Danville, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Loyalsock Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Danville will head out on the road to face off against Wyomissing at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wyomissing is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
