Basketball Game Preview: Northern Heights Wildcats vs. Osage City Indians

The Northern Heights Wildcats will square off against the Osage City Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Northern Heights is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came up short against Marais des Cygnes Valley on Wednesday, falling 60-34. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Trojans are ranked 124th).

Meanwhile, Osage City waltzed into their game on Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They blew past the Braves, posting a 67-29 win. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Osage City pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for Northern Heights, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 0-10-2 record this season.

Northern Heights took a serious blow against Osage City when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 64-16. Can Northern Heights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
