Basketball Preview: Bibb County Choctaws vs. Holt Ironmen
After four games on the road, Bibb County is heading back home. They will take on the Holt Ironmen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bibb County is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Ironmen in Alabama (the Choctaws are ranked 140th, while the Ironmen are ranked 380th).
Last Thursday, Bibb County was beaten by the Jaguars 48-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bibb County has scored all season.
Meanwhile, even though Brookwood scored an imposing 61 points on Wednesday, Holt still came out on top. Holt snuck past the Panthers with a 67-61 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Holt.
Bibb County dropped their record down to 13-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.0 points per game. As for Holt, their victory bumped their record up to 4-18.
Bibb County strolled past the Ironmen in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 51-37. Does Bibb County have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ironmen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
