Basketball Recap: West St. John Rams vs. East Jefferson Warriors
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bonnabel, West St. John was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 42-35 victory over the East Jefferson Warriors. The win was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
East Jefferson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Graci Malic, who scored 14 points. Malic continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Leyah Dejoie was another key player, scoring nine points.
West St. John's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for East Jefferson, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-2.
West St. John wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-16 defeat against Terrebonne on the 3rd. East Jefferson has also already played their next game, a 32-30 win against Livingston Collegiate Academy on the 4th.
