League recap: Terrell County climbs in standings with win

Terrell County was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to third in A Region 1. Earlier in the week, the Greenwave triumphed over Schley County 54-24.

Terrell County moved up to 300 from 393 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 54-24 win over the Wildcats helped the Greenwave improve their standing.

Tremel Emanuel was the most productive running back in the league this week. In five carries, he ran for 77 yards as Mitchell County fell to Brooks County. Jaquan Williams also contributed to the rushing game with 56 yards on the ground.

Seminole County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jakhari Martin has thrown for 128 yards and one touchdown this season, while Robert Speight has two catches for 88 yards. Thomas Aiken leads the league in rushing with 361 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Eagles take on Miller County. At the moment, Mitchell County is in fifth, while the Pirates are in first.

Terrell County led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Schley County.
