Metea Valley took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They took down Downers Grove South 35-19. The victory was all the more spectacular given Metea Valley's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while Downers Grove South is ranked 108th).

Coming up, Metea Valley will challenge Plainfield Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Downers Grove South, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Downers Grove North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
