Baseball Recap: York Has No Trouble Against Yarmouth

York's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Yarmouth Clippers as they made off with a 14-4 win. Considering the Wildcats have won four games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

York got a massive performance out of Robbie Hanscom, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave Hanscom a new career-high in RBI (two). Jack Joyce was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: York kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

York has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Yarmouth, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. York will welcome Greely at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rangers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Yarmouth, they will host Freeport at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
