Baseball Recap: Silas Wins Going Away Against Mount Tahoma

Silas had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Mount Tahoma on Tuesday. The Rams put the hurt on the T-Birds with a sharp 11-1 win. Considering the Rams' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Jesse Bell and Joe Duke made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Bell didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Duke tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts Bell has posted since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Bell went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Duke went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jackson Keeton was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 11 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Lystra, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Silas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount Tahoma only posted an OBP of .250.

Silas has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Tahoma, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Silas will have a chance to go back-to-back against the T-Birds: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
